Dios esta haciendo cosas increíbles en Guatemala y como ustedes saben nuestra pasión es ver jóvenes Guatemaltecos enamorados de Dios y  nuestra Escuela SST (salvos para servir y tomar acción   comenzara el 18 de Noviembre y termina el 7 de Diciembre ayúdennos a orar para que los jóvenes vengan con un corazón dispuesto a conocer mas a Dios y enamorarse de El y como dice nuestro lema:  Conocer a Dios y Darlo a Conocer
también pedimos sus oraciones para que Dios nos guié en esta escuela ya que Karla y YO estamos diriguiendola y para que Dios  provea de todo lo que necesitamos para la SST como familia.

Como grupo de Jucum tuvimos la bendicion de poder bendecir varias familias llevando una donacion de sopas a un lugar que se llama prados de la lagunilla son familias que perdieron sus casas por diferentes tormentas tropicales que han afectado a nuestro pais.
As YWAM group had the blessing of being able to bless several families bringing a donation of soup to a place called: prados de la lagunilla are families who lost their homes in different tropical storms that have hit our country.

García’s studying in Nicaragua!!!

It has been almost four months since we got to Nicaragua, attending School of the Bible course, offered by YWAM, http://www.ywamnicaragua.org/eng/sotb.html.

God has revealed Himself to us in great and wonderful ways, personal and unique to each of us.

Everyday we are being challenged to be thought by God on all the areas of our lives.  It has being a school full of knowledge in study, homework, family time, implementing what we learn to our everyday life.  Be a living sacrifice to impact those around us, starting with our children.

We recently finished reading the Old Testament, but there has been so much more left to learn, that we eager to start over, to see with more clarity what God has to tell us in the Bible.  Also, learning how our doubts will be brought to light by digging into the Word and letting the Holy Spirit guide us.

Andrea

I am happy that God gave me an MP3 Player, I enjoy dancing, this week I will start taking Flamenco dance classes.  I enjoy my new school, though it was rather difficult to adjust to mi new home and friends.  But I also enjoy be the number one on my class and because I have more free time with out homework.

Toto:

For Toto, (David), adapting has being difficult, he still asking us to return to Guatemala quite often, we are trying to encourage him.  This is his first year of school and he is doing quite well.  He enjoys having ample space to play at the YWAM base with his new friends.

Elian:

Elian is now two and a half, he is growing fast.  He is having a hard time in the mornings, he spends time with a baby sitter while we attend class.  He is taking his time adapting to the change.  He is now able to speak in sentences or phrases.  He looks up Toto, (David).

 

Our prayer requests:

• For wisdom, grace and strength for our whole family.
• For a teachable heart for David.
• For our outreach time in July as well the finances needed for it.
• For a new season after school, we are praying for affirmation on what direction and place God wants us to be involved on.

News

Hello Friends: This is the latest news from our family. The most relevant reason for which we are grateful to God is the full recovery of Andrea. After couple of months of difficulties with her health, (Appendicitis, Hepatitis A, Gastritis and Urinary Infection) we can say that The Lord has been Faithful to us. Andrea has resumed normal activities. The last few test on her liver came back normal, she spent another week with out no pain on her abdomen. THANK YOU GOD FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS AND PROVISION!!!! DAVID: Is nearly five years old, on May 30th will be his birthday. Definitely time flies, he is already planning his birthday party. ELIAN: Is already nineteen months and we are discovering and enjoying his unique personality. For now his fascination is climbing on anything he feels like it. Boxes, couches, ladders, etc. It requires constant supervision. His great smile is great and one of the most noticeable things about him all the time. Soon he will be starting his potty training, I am getting myself mentally ready for that process. I hope it goes with out to many accidents. Relocation has been an adventure for our family. God has provided a new place to live. The next step is to be able to buy our own home. While that time comes we are very thankkful for Carlos’s mom house, where we live now. CARLOS and KARLA: Due to the distance from our new place, our routine has been adjusted a bit. Carlos and I drop Andrea off at school every morning, I pick her up before heading home, It gives me time to be more involve at the base. David and Elian stay home with their grandmother at home. We have started to exercise a Little bit, we enjoy it. We are getting up early and doing things that we did not doing before since we have to getting up early. PROYECTOS POR VENIR… We are getting ready for the SST school in November. Recruiting is the most pressing, so we are starting in a few weeks. Also, we are praying and visiting some homes. That is one of our goals, but we are excited and we believe is time that we should believe and ask God for this. Carlos and I would like to take a trip to fundraise for this family Project, we are praying for the doors to open and for the hearts of the people the will be part of this. Bible school in Nicaragua: We are evaluating the possibility of attending such school which lasts nine months starting January 2011. We have to see what it will mean for to us a family, Andrea’s school, finances, etc. Is something that we would love to do since we have been serving with JUCUM Guatemala, also to do something else as a family.

Que tal amigos: Estas son las ultimas noticias de nuestra familia.  Lo mas relevante y la razon mas grande por la que debemos agradecer a Dios es la recuperacion de Andrea. Después de casi dos meses de pasar un proceso difícil con la salud de Andrea (apendicitis, hepatitis A, gastritis e infeccion urinaria) podemos decir que hasta aquí el Senor ha sido fiel con nosotros. Andrea se ha integrado a sus actividades normales, los ultimos examenes de bilirrubina e higado salieron normales y paso esta semana completa sin dolor de estomago, el cual tuvo eventualmente por las ultimas semanas. GRACIAS DIOS POR TU INMESA FIDELIDAD Y PROVISION!!!! DAVID: esta proximo a cumplir 5 anios el 30 de Mayo. Definitivamente el tiempo pasa rapido y nuestro segundo retonio pronto vera las consecuencias de eso. Por supuesto esta feliz y planeando su cercana fiesta de cumpleaños. ELIAN: por su parte ya tiene 19 meses y estamos disfrutando y descubriendo su pesonalidad unica. Por ahora lo mas notorio es su gran fascinación por treparse donde quiera que se le ocurre: cajas, sillones, escaleras, etc. Lo cual requiere una supervisión mas cercana. Su gran sonrisa es una de sus atributos mas notorios, siempre es una bendición verlo sonreir en todo tiempo. Pronto empezara su entrenamiento para dejar de usar paniales, lo cual tambien me involucra a mi directamente, asi que estoy preparandome mentalmente para ese proceso, que espero sea rapido y no con tantos accidentes. El cambio de casa ha sido toda una aventura para nuestra familia, Dios nos proveyo un nuevo lugar para estar mientras viene nuestro proximo paso que es comprar una casa propia. Mientras eso llega estamos muy agradecidos por la casa de la mama de Carlos donde estamos viviendo ahora y quien nos recibio con los brazos abiertos y ha sido una tremenda bendicion. CARLOS Y KARLA: Por la distancia de nuestra nueva casa, nuestra rutina ha cambiado un poco. Ahora Carlos y yo debemos llevar juntos a Andrea al colegio para que luego yo pueda recogerla y llevarla a casa. Eso me ha dado la oportunidad de estar todas las manianas en la base e involucrarme un poco mas. Mientras David y Elian se quedan con su abuelita en casa. Hemos empezado a hacer un poco de ejercicio, lo cual nos encanta. Estamos tratando de aprovechar mas nuestro tiempo ahora que debemos levantarnos mas temprano y hacer cosas que normalmente no haciamos antes. PROYECTOS POR VENIR…Estamos empezando preparativos para nuestra SST en Noviembre de este anio. El reclutambiento de estudiantes es lo mas inmediato, asi que debemos empezar a hacerlo en algunas semanas.Tambien estamos orando y visitando algunas opciones de casas. Ese es uno de nuestros mas grandes retos, pero estamos emcionados porque sentimos que ya es el tiempo de creerle y pedirle a Dios por eso!!! Queremos hacer un viaje, talves juntos o solo Carlos para levantar fondos para este nuevo proyecto familiar y como siempre orando para que Dios habra puertas y toque los corazones de quienes van a ser parte de esto.  Escuela de la Biblia en Nicaragua: Estamos orando para ver la posibilidad de hacer esta escuela que dura 9 meses el proximo enero del 2011. Estamos en el proceso de evaluar lo que significaria esto como familia, los estudios de Andrea, las finanzas que requeriria, etc. Pero es algo que nos encantaria hacer después de casi 10 anios de estar sirviendo en Jucum Guatemala y recibir algo nuevo de Dios como familia.

The Most Recent From The Garcia’s Hello friends We would like to share with you what is going on with our family. OUR FAMILY Eliam is about to turn one year old on September 15th.  He almost walks by himself all around the house.  Our youngest is growing up and we are trying to enjoy the stages of his life. David (AKA toto) is being quite a challenge for the both of us.  He is strong willed, correction and rules are a hard for hi to adjust too.  It has helped us to grow and depend on GOD to guide him. Andrea  and four of her schoolmates took second place at the Spelling Bee contest couple of weeks ago.  She worked hard studying Forty words, but in the last round she was the only one on her groupd that missed a word.  It was difficult for her, but a great opportunity for us to encourage and support her.  As a family we are praying so we can take some much needed vacations at the end of October and beginning of November.  We are thrilled and also we are praying for certain specific things. The first SST (Season of Service and Training) School in English Carlos had the chance to co-direct the first English SST School just this past month.  We had 15 young teens from Minnesota to take this course, as always God did some specifics and profound things in their lives.  We all ready have some other churches interested on the course, so we expect to continue with this program on years to come. Our relocation of YWAM base We are experimenting one of the biggest changes that JUCUM Guatemala has had in years on till now.  Now are a crucial moment of moving, for almost twenty five years this was our location.  But at the same time we are excited and have a conviction that God has great things for us a a Ministry wherever we maybe, we are currently moving to a two rental houses that are located about fifteen minutes from our last location.  This two houses are big enough to do handle our most immediate needs, but it will be a challenge to have enough space in which we can house all the things we have to move.  We are seeking God’s grace as a Ministry so He can continue to protect us on this time of transition and for our family so we get accustom to a new place and adjustments that will be expected of us. Prayer Points -          For wisdom, guidance, love for our kids.   (Specially for a teachable and obedience spirit for David.) -          For a possible surgery that Andrea needs to remove her tonsils.  It has been a source of repeated infections and painful bones this last year. -          For grace, protection, guidance, provision and everything we need in the process of changing as JUCUM Guatemala. -          For provision to enjoy good family vacations this year $800. Lo Mas Reciente De Nuestra Familia Que tal amigos queremos compartirles un poco de lo que esta pasando en nuestra familia y ministerio!!! NUESTRA FAMILIA: Eliam  a punto de cumplir su primer año el próximo 15 de Sept. ya casi camina solo y anda por todos lados en la casa. Ya nuestro bebé esta creciendo y estamos tratando de disfrutar cada una de sus etapas. Andrea y cuatro compañeros mas de su clase ganaron el Segundo lugar en un concurso de Spelling bee hace dos semanas en su colegio. Se esforzó mucho repasando cuarenta palabras, pero en la última fase de la competencia ella fue la única que se equivocó de su grupo….Fue difícil para ella, pero una gran oportunidad para nosotros para poder afirmarla y apoyarla. David (toto) Esta siendo un gran reto para nosotros dos. La persistencia es una parte bien fuerte en su personalidad y cuando viene el tiempo de la corrección y las reglas, es una de las cosas mas dificiles para el. Nos ha ayudado mucho a crecer y a depender de Dios para corregirlo y guiarlo porque hay puntos en los que tus métodos no funcionan y la única opción es ir a Dios… Como familia estamos orando para poder tomar unas buenas vacaciones aqui en Guatemala a finales de Octubre o principios de Noviembre. Estamos muy emocionados por eso y también estamos orando para recibir apoyo para esto en específico. LA PRIMERA SST EN INGLES… Carlos tuvo la oportunidad y fue retado a co-dirigir la primera SST en inglés este pasado mes de Agosto. Tuvimos 15 adolescentes quienes vinieron desde Minnesota para recibir este curso y como siempre Dios hizo cosas muy profundas y específicas en sus vidas. Ya tenemos algunas otras iglesias interesadas en el curso, asi que, esperamos seguir con este programa por varios años mas. NUESTRO CAMBIO DE BASE… Estamos experimentando uno de los cambios mas grandes que la base de Jucum Guatemala ha tenido hasta ahora. Por fin estamos en el momento crucial de movernos del lugar que por casi 25 años fue nuestra sede. Pero al mismo tiempo estamos emocionados porque tenemos la plena convicción de que el Señor tiene cosas grandes para nosotros como ministerio en donde quiera que estemos Nos estamos moviendo a dos casas rentadas que se encuentran como a 15 minutos de donde estabamos. Estas dos casas son lo suficientemente grandes para cubrir nuestras necesidades inmediatas, aunque siempre será un gran reto tener el espacio suficiente para mover todas las cosas que tenemos. Estamos orando y pidiéndole a Dios mucha gracia como ministerio para que nos siga guardando y protegiendo en todo este tiempo de transición y por nosotros como familia para que pronto nos acomodemos al nuevo lugar y a los ajustes que este nos requerirá. PUNTOS DE ORACION…. -          Por mucha guianza, sabiduria y amor para la guianza de nuestros hijos.  (Especialmente por un espíritu de obediencia y enseñable para David). -          Por una posible cirujia que Andrea necesita para quitarle las amigdalas. Estas le han  traído  infecciones muy repetidas y dolores de huesos este ultimo año. -          Por mucha gracia, protección, guianza, provision y todo lo que necesitamos en nuestro proceso de cambio como Jucum Guatemala. -          Por provision para disfrutar de unas buenas vacaciones familiares este año. Nuestra EDE 2009 ha terminado, como siempre ha sido una bendicion ver como cada uno de ellos conoció a Dios en una forma diferente. Ahora tienen nuevos conceptos acerca de quien es El. Por supuesto el tiempo de cruzada tambien fue increible, estuvimos en Huehuetenango departamento de Guatemala, Nicaragua y Costa Rica en Centroamerica.

Despues de tres años pudimos volver a salir de cruzada como familia a Huehue, pasamos alli dos semanas que fueron retantes, pero muy bendecidas a la misma vez.

Como siempre tuvimos que aventurar durmiendo en colchonetas y nuestro cuarto basicamente fue un aula de clases, cabe mencionar que esta aventura fue muy divertida para nuestros hijos.

Algo que nunca habiamos experimentado fue que alrededor de 80 personas se entregaron al Señor y eso es mas que suficiente para que nuestro viaje valiera la pena. Aún si el fruto fuera el de una persona que conociera al Señor, nos haria saber y sentir que la inversión fue buena y pudimos ver el fruto.

COSTA RICA.... Pura vida mae!!!!!

Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar en el área donde fue el epicentro de un terremoto que sufrió una parte del país hace mas o menos cuatro meses.

Trabajamos con áras debastadas con destruccion de casas, bajando el material destinado a la reconstruccion de las viviendas como: block, cemento y hierro. También haciendo fosas sépticas y trabajando en campos de fresa como parte de contribuir con los ciudadanos a su levantamiento económico.

El equipo y yo estuvimos durmiendo en furgones, donde por el dia era casi como dormir en un horno y por las noches el frio del metal.

Algo que sentimos que Dios nos habloó fue de traer la parte práctica de compartir el evangelio no solamente con PALABRAS, sino con HECHOS... Podemos decirle a una persona que Dios es la respuesta, pero muchas veces nosotros debemos ser parte de ella.

Estuvimos ayudando a personas en recuperacion de alcoholismo y drogas, ayudandolas en un taller de reciclaje con el que cuentan para levantar fondos, también les impartimos algunas pláticas y dramas.

Y por último estuvimos en un asentamiento haciendo programas para los niños y haciendo evangelismo en algunos parques...

NUESTROS HIJOS....

Feliz cumpleños a ti!!!! fue nuestra canción el pasado mes de Mayo y Junio para nuestros hijos Andrea y David. Andrea cumplió 8 años y David 4. Por primera vez organizamos una pequeña fiesta para celebrar sus cumpleaños y fue muy divertida para ellos, aunque con mucho trabajo para nosotros.

Ahora mismo nuestros tres niños estan recuperándose de un virus que les afectó las vias respiratorias, tuvimos un tiempo difícil yendo al Doctor varias veces, comprando medicinas y tratando de mantener una actitud positiva en medio del tiempo difícil pero esta siendo una bendicion verlos recuperarse y sanarse gracias a la intervención de Dios.

COMO ORAR POR NOSOTROS....

- Por la total recuperación de la salud de nuestra familia.

- Por guianza y sabiduria de Dios para nosotros, pues tenemos decisiones importantes que tomar.

- Para que Dios siga añadiendo a mas personas a nuestro grupo de apoyadores mensuales.

- Por sabiduria y dicernimiento para educar, corregir y guiar a nuestros hijos.

- Por un nuevo refrescamiento y un despertar espiritual de parte de Dios para nuestra base.

- Por una posible cirujía por amigdalitis para Carlos y Andrea.

- Y por algunos equipos con los que estaremos trabajando en la base este mes.

Our 2009 Discipleship Training School is over, as always has been a blessing to see how each one of them got to know God in a very unique way. Now they have new concepts of is He. Of course the outreach portion was incredible, we where in Huehuetenango, an area of Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, both countries in Central America.

After three years we could as a family go to an outreach, that was Huehuetenango, we spend two weeks that were a bit challenging but at the same time but blessed at the same time. As usual air mattresses were the norm, we had a classroom was a room, it was an adventure for our kids. Something that we had not seen before, about eighty people receive Christ as they personal savior, which it made this trip worth, even if the fruit of our efforts was only one to know Christ still would have been good.

Costa Rica

I had the opportunity to work in the area at the epicenter of and earthquake that hit part of the country about four months ago. We worked in devastated areas building homes, carrying the materials to the construction site, like center blocks, cement, rebar’s. Also we build some septic tanks, worked in the strawberry fields. The team and I slept in containers, during the days were like a furnace and at nights were very cold.

Something that God told us was to share the Gospel with words but also with actions, we can tell a person that God is the answer, but many times we are part of it. We help a individuals recuperating from alcoholism and drugs, helping in their workshop which is use to raise funds, we shared some studies and dramas. Lastly we had children’s programs at the projects and parks.

Happy Birthday to you!!! Was our song the past May and June for our kids Andrea and David. Andrea is now eight and David is four, for the first time we organized a party to celebrate their birthdays, it was of much for them but a lot of work for us. For now our three kids are recuperating from a virus that affected their respiratory system, we had a hard time going to the Doctor’s various times, buying medicines, as well trying to maintain a positive attitude in the mist of a difficult time, but it is a blessing watch them recuperate and heal thanks to the God’s intervention.

How to pray for us

• For the total recuperation of health in our family
• For God’s wisdom and guidance for us, for we have some important decisions to make
• For God to keep to adding more people to our monthly supporters
• For discernment and wisdom educating and guiding our kids
• For a renewal of spiritual refreshment from God for our base
• For a possible Tonsillitis surgery for Carlos and Andrea
• For some of the teams currently working with us at the base this month

Update from the Garcia’s

Hello

We would like to share with you what God is working on in our lives.

One of the things that God has showed us is to start some type of Business that generates income so we can continue working in missions.  God has opened the doors for us to be able to buy vehicles in the US and bring them down to Guatemala and sell them down here for some profit and support ourselves.

His faithfulness has provided us with the finances to buy a vehicle, at this time we are praying that moneys come to finance the shuttle of the car from the US to Guatemala.

The quantity is $1400, this includes the $600 of import taxes of the car in to Guatemala and $800 for the car to be brought down.

We are praying that answers come in soon, we already paid for the car to the gentleman that has the import car company to bring it, he already left to the USA to buy it and we are hoping to have all the rest of the money to deposit to him or have it send to him in the US.

Queremos compartir con ustedes las cosas que Dios esta haciendo en nuestras vidas.
Lo último que Dios nos ha estado hablando es acerca de ver la posibilidad de comenzar algún tipo de negocio el cual nos genere ingresos extras para poder seguir trabajando en misiones. Dios nos ha estado abriendo puertas con la posiblidad de traer carros de los Estados Unidos para venderlos aqui en Guatemala. Una muestra de su fidelidad es que tenemos la oportunidad de poder traer nuestro primer vehículo y El nos a provisto las finanzas para poder comprarlo y en este momento estamos orando para que el nos provea para traerlo a Guatemala.
